As a retired teacher and educational administrator, freelance editor, tutor, mom, writer and woman who’s made more than a few mistakes, I’ve learned a lot about the power and constancy of change to alter one’s circumstances and perspective. Born in New York City, I’ve returned “home” in retirement, leaving behind the one-hundred year-old farmhouse outside of DC where I raised my children and built my career. I’ve thought long and hard about what makes people tick in order to raise several thousand kids professionally and two personally. I’m a social introvert, which says a lot about my comfort with ambiguity and nonconformity. I like to think about things, and to write about them, especially from the vantage point of the seven decades I’ve had to reflect upon my own life course, which, like most people’s, has had its joys and its travails. I’m currently writing a memoir in between exercising my dog, my body or my insatiable intellectual curiosity.
